We don’t feel the pain until it’s our personal loss.
Yes, this whole sentence is the reality today. On a daily basis we come across news like rape, natural disasters, terrorist attacks, murder and now, Corona virus. But every time a new headline comes, we read it and forget that it ever happened. Still, our lives are at stake, people are dying of corona but who even cares about it anymore? Hardly few of us are wearing masks and taking precautions.
It’s not new that the situation is getting worse for our country, whether it is health wise or in economic terms. People have started to obey the rules of adjustment by completely covering the facts and not willing to accept the truth anymore. But how long will we ignore it?
Facing the worst scenario can break our will power. But life cannot be a simple path to walk a long way right? Twists and turns are necessary for a strong basis.
Today, I donated 1000 rupees to one baby girl. She needs money in crores for her treatment. The drug Zolgensma costs 16 crores — a person with a normal economical standard cannot afford it. You might wonder, how is 1000 rupees going to help her? That is where our thinking takes a diversion. You think your 10 rupees will go in vain since it is impossible to raise such a big amount.
Guess what, her parents had actually raised the 16 crores through every individual’s small donation and made the mission possible to save their child. They didn’t think about the result. They consistently tried all the possible ways to fight against this phase.
Personally, the inner satisfaction I felt that I actually had put up that little endeavor to save her life is something I can’t frame. I felt happy and relieved to be a part of her family’s tiny ray of hope.
There is no need to contribute something huge to the society; you can’t change events which are not in your hands, instead, you can do something which is within their reach.
